We had our 7th meeting this past Thursday. Students finished presenting their individual projects and providing feedback to each other. I was tempted to show photos but I want you to see their hard work at the Student Showcase!
Next we discussed our group cause. At our 6th meeting students had voted suicide as their top cause. To me this says a lot about the minds of upper elementary students today!
At our last meeting we brought the idea of our group cause back up again. After discussing a few ideas we decided to adopt a second group cause – supporting homeless people and animals. We will collect items and deliver them to shelters. The students are excited for this project. We will still look into ways to educate people on suicide, we just realized this can be a touchy subject for the elementary crowd.
